This Drives Me Mental.
This morning while listening to Adam Carolla (of course) I heard a radio ad for McDonalds’ new line of flavored iced coffees. At some point the speaker said “OMG”. That’s right, pronounced each letter out loud. I understand that the insipid TV show Gossip Girl is using the phrase “OMFG” in its advertising.
Has our language deteriorated to the point where we are SPEAKING in IM/text message shorthand? What’s next, people saying “LOL” instead of laughing? It’s really painful.

I have heard people saying “lol” - not the letters, but saying it like a word. It’s like saying “that was funny”. Every time I hear it I die a little inside.
